VENLAY® Restorations - Beyond Veneers and Cosmetic Dentistry

Most of us need some form of bite correction, and veneers don’t help at all. With veneers, the upper teeth don’t cosmetically match the color of the lower teeth unless we also had veneers on the lower. We need to begin thinking long term about our health and our smiles. We a living a lot longer than ever and we need to be just as concerned about the health of our teeth in the future. Letting a dentist drill down healthy tooth structure is really not necessary in most cases.
Cosmetic dentistry is all about the smile but has little health benefits. Most of the time, our bites are worn down, the jaws are misaligned, and we are getting older too fast because we don’t understand how much a bite optimization can improve our health and quality of life. The Face Lift Dentistry® method has major health benefits like breathing better and sleeping better because there is more room for the tongue.
Nine weeks after getting minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry, she cannot chew with her front teeth and they are still sensitive to temperature. Letting a cosmetic dentist that says, “I do minimally invasive veneers and will not grind down much of your tooth structure,” in her opinion turned out to be “bold-faced lies.”
Many patients begin to experience bite pain and TMJ pain after porcelain veneers and what many cosmetic dentists do is begin “bite adjustments”. This is another term for grinding away small areas of your healthy teeth to help relieve the pain. The pain was caused because the dentist drilled down your teeth. And most of the time, bite adjustments by a dentist make the overbite deeper.
She explains her experience very honestly and sincerely and feels that the drilling down of her teeth was a gross misrepresentation. The cosmetic dentist thinks this is “conservative” and she thinks it is far too much drilling.
She had bite pain after veneers and tooth sensitivity, so bite correction was a possible solution. Dr. Muslin used JawTrac® bite test to prove his bite correction method would work and also to show the patient the positive effects it will have on the chin and jawline.
The bad veneers were replaced, and all of her other remaining teeth received VENLAY® Restorations that covered the outside and the biting surfaces. With a new bite and new 3D jaw position, the chin size and facial profile were improved. Shots were needed to treat the 8 teeth her previous cosmetic dentist drilled away for veneers. But, none of her remaining healthy teeth were drilled down so no shots were needed to restore the remaining 20 teeth.
This method is designed to address each patient's individualized health issues and cosmetic goals. Every patient gets tested and they can take the JawTrac® home to experience pain relief and the new shape to their faces. When they are ready, they fly back with a life-changing experience that is a complete functional treatment to address speaking, chewing, jaw clicking and popping TMJ issues, bite pain and headaches. At the same time, if patients want to look younger, improve their profile and gain better facial support, the treatment develops solutions for the cosmetic issues simultaneously.
